Next to most car roads in the Netherlands we have special bike paths. We like segregation, so everybody is sort of free, in his own zone. But don’t cross it, because we’d than make verbally clear to get back into that zoned area. At the same time, for ourselves however, we like to cross the lines. Rules are for others. We are and want to be the exception.
So, than there was this problem of demolishing a building near the bike path. It was impossible off course to make somebody get of their bike and go walking onto the pedestrian area. Dutch people never step of their bike. So, the demolisher was smart and put two containers onto the path, making some sort of safe corridor. A protection against huge pieces of heavy debris. I’m wondering though, who opens the doors each morning.
